1981	The Company sets up a plant for the manufacture of grey iron castings at Howrah, West Bengal.
1985	Achieves Export House status and receives various prestigious awards for its outstanding performance.

1987	Sets up Himadri Industries Limited for preserving potatoes with a capacity of 60,000 MT.
1990	Himadri diversifies into chemicals and sets up its first coal tar distillation plant at Howrah.
1992	The Company declares a public issue and has an overwhelming response. Its shares are listed in all the major stock exchanges of India and undertakes expansion at its Howrah plant.
1994	Company comes up with Rights Issue for setting up greenfield coal tar distillation plant at Visakhapatnam.
1996	Himadri develops technology for producing impregnating pitch becoming the only company in India and one of the few in the world to produce this material.
1997	Expansion and modernisation plans are undertaken and completed at Howrah and Visakhapatnam.
1999	Third state of art coal tar distillation plant is set up at Howrah.
2001	Company forms corrosion protection division and starts manufacturing coal tar based pipe coating products at Visakhapatnam, using the latest technology available.
2002	Introduces Liquid Pitch, which are supplied to the consumers in specialized and dedicated tankers.
2003	Fourth most mordernised coal tar distillation plant is set at Hooghly with capacity to produce 1,20,000 MT of Coal Tar Pitch per annum.
